Patrick Elisha-Sanmiguel

Patrick Elisha-Sanmiguel is a graduate of the Artist Diploma program at the Boston University School of Music as a student of Pavel Nersessian. Following early studies on cello with his father Steven Elisha and on piano James Rivers, he continued as a piano student of Stanislav Ioudenitch and was awarded the Trustee and Departmental Scholarships at the International Center for Music at Park University. He then completed his Bachelor of Music at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with Menahem Pressler where he received the Premier Young Artist Award and was named a Senior Founder’s Scholar. Patrick continued with André Watts in his Master of Music at the Jacobs School of Music where he held an Assistant Instructor Scholarship and Appointment.
Patrick is a prize winner and recipient of numerous awards, including the Boston University Concerto Competition, Mondavi Competition, Indianapolis Matinee Musical Competition, Kansas City Music Club and Sigma Alpha Iota scholarships, Topeka Symphony Youth Talent Auditions, Kansas City Symphony Young Artists Competition, Music Teachers National Association Piano Competition, First Prize in the Great Composers International Bach - Brahms - Chopin - Prokofiev - Schubert Competitions, nominee for the 2017 American Pianists Award, and Grand Prize Winner of the Concert Artists International Competition.
Mr. Elisha-Sanmiguel has performed and participated in various national and international summer festivals and masterclasses including the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the Boris Berman Piano Academy at Villa Medici Giulini in Italy, John Perry’s master class at the American Liszt Society’s National Festival hosted at Kansas University, and in the master classes of Malcolm Bilson, Dang Thai Son, Martha Argerich, Jeffrey Cohen, Angela Cheng, Alvin Chow, Alan Chow, William Grant Naboré, and Asaf Zohar. He has performed at the California Mondavi Center’s Jackson Hall, Dan Harris and Dave – Gunda Hiebert Recital Series in Kansas City and Lawrence Kansas, Indiana University, Park University International Center for Music, Georgia Southern University, Kansas City Music Club, Tanglewood on Parade, Ventfort Hall Mansion, White Concert Hall Sunflower Music Festival, University of Missouri Kansas City Heartland Chamber Music Institute, and as concerto competition winner and soloist with the Boston University Symphony Orchestra at the Tsai Performance Center.
Patrick served as music minister for the Evansville Diocese in Indiana and the Boston Archdiocese in Massachusetts. After managing Pre-Owned Sales for Steinway Americas, he returned to M. Steinert & Sons as Education Division and Institutional Sales Director, teaches piano privately, working closely with the New England community as a performing artist and educator. Patrick resides in Massachusetts with his wife María.
