Ashley Liu

Praised for her expressive depth and refined artistry, Taiwanese pianist Ashley Liu is a passionate performer and educator, as well as a Steinway Teacher Educational Partner, with a wide range of appearances in solo and chamber concerts across North America and Asia, and has received top prizes and gold award in international piano competitions including San Francisco International Artists Music Competition and Global Musicians Competition.

Ashley earned her Master of Music in Piano Performance at Boston University College of Fine Arts, where she studied with Andrius Žlabys and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, worked privately with non-piano majors. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA) under the tutelage of Evan Wong.

Ashley’s diverse performance experience reflects her versatility and dedication to musical storytelling. Ashley is currently a ballet pianist at José Mateo Ballet School in Cambridge, MA, where she collaborates closely with dancers and faculties in daily training and rehearsals. She has been invited to perform in Toronto at the Multicultural Festival organized by the Asian Canadian Cultural Centre, and has presented numerous recitals, including her solo recitals, chamber music concerts, concerto performances, and collaborative projects with vocalists and instrumentalists.

Notable appearances include the TNUA New Music Workshop Concerts, Ashley Liu Concerto Concert, and multiple mandolin and studio concerts as a collaborative pianist. She has also accompanied ensembles such as the TNUA Female Choir, and performed in unique cross-cultural events including the Okinawa Classic Music: Uta-Sanshin Concert, Steel Pan Concert, and the Nanguan Opera “Ju-Bien” project featuring traditional Chinese instruments.

Her artistic development has been enriched by guidance from distinguished musicians such as Ning An, Edwin Barker, Victor Cayres, Stephany Cheng, Grace Chung, Thomas Van Dyck, Gila Goldstein, Linda Jiorle-Nagy, Aliya Korepanova, Tzu -Yu Kuo, Robert Sheena, Nicholas Stovall, Jihye Sung, and Peter Zazofsky. Whether on stage or in collaboration, she aims to create performances that invite reflection,
connection, and shared emotional experience.
