Dr. Suzanne Hanser will address the intersections between art, music and storytelling, and lead a workshop in how these art forms can evoke creativity at the piano. Attendees will learn tips on how to bring art and storytelling into the process of teaching piano. Dr. Hanser will also perform her original art-inspired piano compositions.

Dr. Suzanne B. Hanser is Chair Emerita & Professor of Music Therapy at Berklee College of Music.  She is Past President of both the World Federation of Music Therapy and the National Association for Music Therapy. Dr. Hanser is the author of The New Music Therapist’s Handbook, Integrative Health through Music Therapy: Accompanying the Journey from Illness to Wellness, and co-author of Manage Your Stress and Pain, book and CD, with Dr. Susan Mandel.  Suzanne plays several instruments, but the piano is her love, and she is the recipient of the American Music Therapy Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
