Lana Suran (b. 1992) gave her first public performance at the age of five and is the winner of SWEA Internationals “Paskéll Prize for the Arts” (2015 ). She has performed in venues such as Alice Tully Hall, Steinway Hall, Victor Borge Hall, House of the Redeemer, Glassbox at the New School, Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, The Atheneum, Royal Theatre in Copenhagen, Chateau du Lac in Brussels, Concert Noble in Brussels, Salle Cortot in Paris, PianoLab in Paris, Piano Salon Christophori in Berlin, Casa de la Música in Quito, Petruzzelli Opera House in Italy, Wiener Saal in Salzburg, Luxembourg Philharmonie, Grand Hall of Tbilisi State Conservatory, Small Hall of Kiev Philharmonic, Casa Da Música in Porto, Auditorio de Tenerife, Rachmaninoff Hall in Moscow and all major concert halls in Sweden, to name a few. Her Debut CD was released in Spring 2017 and includes Shostakovich Piano Concerto no.2 with Dalasinfoniettan and Daniel Blendulf as well as solo works by Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Lana is a prize winner of many international competitions and won the First Swedish Steinway Competition in Gothenburg (2001) at the age of eight as well as all national Swedish competitions before turning sixteen.
Other awards include, First prize in Peter Jablonski Piano Competition, Swedish Young Soloist 2012 and First Prize at Berlindske Tidendes Musikkonkurence in Denmark. Silver Medal at the 17th Young Musician International Competition Citta di Barletta and Bronze Medal at Giovanni Talenti International Competition in Italy.

Lana received 4th prize, “Best Semi-Final Recital” and “Youngest Talent” awards at Val Tidone Piano Competition (2013) in Italy and Second Prize at Tenerife International Piano Competition in 2017. Lana was a semi-finalist at Porto International Piano Competition in July 2018 and won the “Bach Prize”. She made her debut at Weill Recital Hall in December of 2018 as well as her debut performance in Tel Aviv performing Liszt Piano Concerto no.2 with members of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra at the Felicja Blumental Music Center. Lana had the honor to give the New York premiere of “Songs of Insurrection” by Frederic Rzewski (May 2018) at “Mannes Sounds Festival” as part of his 80th birthday celebration.

She gave her debut recital at Helsingborg Piano Festival (2013) invited by Swedish pianist Per Tengstrand where she performed side by side with Marc André-Hamelin, Peter Jablonski and Haochen Zhang. She has played and worked with Sergei Babayan, Andrey Baranov, Dmitri Bashkirov, Daniel Blendulf, Paul Biss, Lucy Chapman, Eduardo Delgado, Aquilles Delle-Vigne, Vladimir Feltsman, Miriam Fried, Richard Goode, Philippe Graffin, Christian Ihle-Hadland, Robert Hamilton, Jiri Hlinka, Philip Kawin, Joel Krosnick, Lang-Lang, Hans Leygraf*, Maxim Mogilevsky, Svetlana Navasardian, Raphaël Oleg, Haesun Paik, Menahem Pressler, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Frederic Rzewski, Peter Takaczs, Marianna Shirinyan, Susan Starr, Astrid Schween, Per Tengstrand, Frank Wibaut, Vivian Hornik-Weilerstein, Donald Weilerstein, Oxana Yablonskaya and members of the Kodály and Borromeo String Quartets, among others. She continues to work with Astrid Schween in New York City as her class pianist.

Lana frequently performs in Sweden and abroad and has taken part in international festivals such as Musica Mundi Chamber Music Course and Festival in Belgium, Helsingborg Piano Festival, Musik på Slottet, Giresta Musik and Aurora Chamber Music in Festival in Sweden, PianoSummer at New Paltz, Todi International Music Masters in Italy, ICMF Stavanger, Lake Como Academy, Salzburg Summer Akademie, Jiri Hlinka Academy in Bergen, Schiermonnikoog Internationaal Kammarmuziek Festivaal and “From Easter to Ascension” International Piano Festival in Tbilisi. She began her musical studies with Victoria Power and Elena Power and moved to the United States at the age of sixteen to continue her studies at Walnut Hill School for the Arts with Hung Kuan Chen and later Alexander Korsantia. Lana graduated from New England Conservatory in 2016 and is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at Mannes School of Music with Ursula Oppens and taking classes in Fine Arts/Journalism at NYU.
